SLC are keen to hear parents’ views on 1140 hours

SLC are inviting parents to share their views on 1140 hours and it’s impact on them so far.  Please find below info from SLC about a range of consultation events they are hosting soon.  If you can make it along your input would be welcome.

The Scottish Government announced its intention to increase early learning and childcare hours for all three and four year olds and for eligible two year olds from the current 600 hours per year – in nurseries, – to 1140 hours by 2020.

We have been phasing our approach since August 2017 to delivering this expansion in some of our nurseries and funded providers

We are now keen to gather the views of parents/carers who have used the 1140 hours to gain your opinions on how best these 1140 hours are provided for you and your child and help us to shape the future delivery models.

We are holding 3 parental consultation events focusing on the outcomes of the 1140 hours Early Learning and Childcare for you and most importantly your children.

The events will be held in the Council Chambers on:

Wednesday 7th November 4.30-5.30

Friday 9th November 10-11

Friday 9th November 1-2

As you can see the sessions are focused and will last one hour.  There will be a series of questions with voting pads in order that you can see immediate results and you will also have the opportunity to provide your own experiences and opinions.

Please confirm to the nursery staff which session you can attend

Thanks for your consideration and we look forward to seeing those parents who can attend
