As a registered care service, ACE Place has a duty to enact on our legal requirement related to the Health (tobacco, nicotine etc and Care)(Scotland) Act 2016, which means when things go wrong we must communicate appropriately with those affected, make a full apology and document how the Company has learned from the experience, including reflection on events and consideration of any changes to policy and/or procedure which should be required as a result. For the period to 21st May 2025 there were no such events and no necessity to trigger Duty Of Candour Procedures at ACE Place. Our annual statement along with a copy of our Duty of Candour process and guidance is noted here for your information.

Aside from this responsibility we regularly review accidents and incidents at ACE Place. In the past year we have undertaken a thorough review of all our Risk Assessments and the processes we use to identify and evaluate risk for children both within our own environments and whilst on outings with our teams. Health & Safety is a standing agenda item at Staff Meetings and both staff and children are actively involved in Risk Assessing throughout our services.
